Hey Everyone,

So today I had the absolute privilege to sit down and have a chat with Ale Gibson from Blossom Media. We talked all about the blossom sessions and how she is helping to shine the spotlight on artists from her area. Although I've not known her long it's clear to see she is someone who is very passionate about music and the media that best represents them, not to mention she's also fantastic at her job!

Firstly thank you so much for being the first interviewee on the blog!

Thank you for having me! Happy to be here.

So tell me about how the blossom sessions started and why you decided to start it.

So, I was heavily inspired by an 8-year-old video of Bring Me The Horizon performing "Doomed" at The Royal Albert Hall. Seeing the power of orchestral elements in music instantly had me hooked on reimagined performances of all types. This began a 2-year development plan of what is now the Blossom Sessions. Growing up in a community deeply rooted in supporting the growth of artists, I wanted The Blossom Sessions to be a platform for music discovery while equipping artists with unique, fresh content for their dedicated fans.

Where did you get the name "The Blossom sessions" from?

The Blossom sessions is a project under the umbrella of my business, Blossom Media. The goal of Blossom Media is to help artists establish and build an influential brand identity through visuals - now expanding into concert booking & pr management. The blossom/floral theme comes from a deeply-rooted connection with my mother who I’ve recently lost. As a child, oftentimes I sat in front of a specific wall at home and just would cry. I’m not even sure what I was so sad about. But my mother came and sat beside me and painted a garden on the wall, glued a white picket fence and wove Christmas lights through it. It was her way of always being with me even if she wasn’t next to me. The floral theme and lights have traveled with me throughout my life.

Wow that's such a beautiful story, so sorry to hear of your recent loss. Where about are you based in the world?

I am based near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US.

I haven't had the chance to visit the states yet, whats the music scene like around Pittsburgh?

The music scene here is great, though I’d love to see more mixed-genre shows. Each genre has its own scene it seems, all very strong, and I feel we can continue to grow if we start to bridge the scenes together.

That would be brilliant! I see that you also work with blood sweat and beers tv which is based in the uk, how did that come about?

This is a great story that I love to tell. I was on Facebook looking for something specific on a friends’ old post, and while skimming the comments, I had seen Danny (co-founder) mention his platform, BSB TV. I had completely lost track of what I was looking for, because the concept of what BSB TV was had completely piqued my interest. I sent him a friend request and a message explaining how I’d love to learn more about the platform. We set up a call with Ben(co-founder) and talked for about an hour, and we realised we aligned on so many different levels. Forming the Blossom Sessions x BSB TV partnership was a no-brainer for us and we’re beyond excited to grow together!

That's fantastic, it's great how we can network online now and meet so many more like minded people! So, what’s on your playlist right now and who are some of the indie artists you’d recommend people to check out at the moment?

Personally, I love a lot of different types of music. A custom playlist I made that’s commonly on rotation is called “take me away from here” featuring very big, cinematic and anthemic production. I listen to this playlist when I'm generally having a hard time emotionally. Some indie artists I’d recommend right now are Ryan Hall, Kenny Potter, badluv and Monet Ngo.

I'll be sure to give those a listen. I know the videos showcase independent artists but if you could pick anyone in the world to get on the sessions who would you choose and why?

At this moment, with the videos that are out, it does seem that the Blossom Sessions does showcase independent artists, but we do not limit participation to independent artists! If I could pick anyone, I would choose Chris Grey. Chris is an incredibly talented artist who truly “broke the internet”, charted on billboard and released an album that was very cinematic. It captured my attention in a way that normally doesn’t happen with listening through an album start to finish. Truly incredible work from him - it’s inspiring, and I’d love to work with him on a session some day.

Another one to add to the 'must listen to' list then! Do you have anything coming up you want everyone to know about?

We have our full launch premiering on January 1st, 2025 with a very unique pop-punk guest. We’re introducing artist interview content with this launch, partnership announcements and more. There will be 3 sessions premiering in January, and while those are rolling out, I will be filming and recording 4 new sessions. There’s a lot of creative movement here and I’m loving every moment of it!

That sounds so exciting! Where can everyone find the blossom sessions and how can they get involved?

The full Blossom Session videos are on our YouTube channel. Additionally, we are on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube shorts, Bluesky, X, and Threads, pushing out content to all platforms! All links can be found at: https://linktr.ee/blossomsessions. We have a submission form that we ask those interested to fill out so we can know more about them. For business inquiries, please email alegibson@blossommedia.co

Everyone at Louder Than Most wishes Ale and the Blossom sessions all the luck in the world for next year. Loads of big and exciting things in the pipeline and an incredible opportunities for musicians to get involved and get some high quality performance videos made of their music as well! Ed
